March minutes approved.
Minutes Approved: Shanda and Dar
Legislative Update: Jenna passed around a legislative summary. HB618 is done, unless Gov Martz vetoes it. Jenna will email Task Force members with an update as soon as she can.
Cat Cab: Can’t really do an update until we know more about All Valley Cab’s future. Susan suggested Cat Cab could talk with Karst because they are already contracted to ASMSU for Bobcat Transit.
Finances: We have to submit FY04 by mid-May. Our base budget should be based on our last full year of income, so about $35,000. Jenna needs to meet with Al Goke to discuss when that money would begin arriving.
Suggested to have a subcommittee work on the budget, with a particular look at expanding our efforts in education.
Bob, Mark, Sherrie, and Jenna will meet before the next meeting.
Parent Party Patrol: Two presentations coming up in May: the Senior High Parent Advisory Council on May 1st, and Community Ed on May 21st, 7 PM.
SKSC Grant: Jenna showed the most recent articles she wrote and that we published under this grant. She asked for volunteers to show the Fatal Vision Goggles on May 10th – need two or more volunteers. Dar volunteered and Jenna said she would ask MADD for additional volunteers.
Thanks to the efforts of a Community Service volunteer, we have an almost up-to-date binder of articles from the past two years relating to DUI.
BAPAC: Has a meeting on Monday at 7 PM to discuss proposals in how to present to the City Commission. The entire proposal is on the IPS website.
Bob indicated interest in attending the City Commission meeting.
In process:
Finding a car to replace the Bronco is in process.
Next Meeting: May 14th.
It was suggested and approved that we move our meetings to the third week of the month so that Jenna can attend the DUI Task Force meeting, and MADD’s monthly meeting, on the same night. Motion approved: Susan moved, Mark seconded. So, the meeting in June will be June 18th.
Meeting adjourned at 6:25 PM.
